The two young entrepreneurs, Jonas Romer and Christian Stiefel, had the idea of online retail for premium office furniture even before the pandemic. Their vision: premium office furniture for half the price of conventional manufacturers. ofinto relies on a lean product range and digital processes to achieve this. While conventional premium office furniture is sold through specialist retailers, ofinto is only available online. Without this intermediary trade, ofinto is up to 50 percent cheaper. "We want to make the buying experience as simple, modern and digital as possible," says Christian. "From purchase to installation at your home or office takes only five days. The entire process can be booked and controlled via our website ofinto.ch."

Demand for innovative solutions increased during Covid

Especially during the pandemic, the uncomplicated process turned out to be an important component of success. Classic office furnishers specialise in furnishing entire offices. Months often pass between order and delivery. During the pandemic, however, millions of home offices had to be equipped in a very short time - so the price-performance ratio, speed and simplicity of the ofinto.ch shop were just what was needed.

Flexible solutions also relevant after the pandemic

The classic office is increasingly being replaced by hybrid models with a mix of home office and office presence: "Due to our digital direct sales, we save about 50 per cent of the costs. This allows companies to equip their employees both in the office and in their home office and pay the same as with classic manufacturers for equipment in the office alone." Ofinto has also developed a modern solution for this: Companies can set up their own "employee shop" with ofinto. Here, the employer determines an amount with which employees are supported. The employees can then individually equip their home office and directly see the prices subsidised by the employer.
