More than just a slogan

Sustainability at ofinto

Careful use of resources

ofinto does not produce fast furniture. Our furniture is suitable for decades of use. If a product is damaged, we repair it instead of simply disposing of it. We use sustainable materials in the production of our office furniture. The sustainable wood production of our table tops is guaranteed by FSC 100% certification. Our furniture is also very easy to disassemble into its raw materials, which are over 80% recyclable.

Climate neutrality

From production to home delivery - we offset our entire CO2 emissions through selected climate projects in Switzerland and abroad. To this end, we work together with the renowned sustainability office Swiss Climate®.

Social responsibility

Every year, we donate a portion of our income to charitable organizations that share our desire to make the world and the working environment a better place for our fellow human beings and future generations. We set the highest quality standards when selecting our projects. It is particularly important to us that the projects pursue as many of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as possible.

Projects in Switzerland

Biogas plants on Swiss farms

This project aims to capture the highly potent greenhouse gas methane, which occurs in agriculture, and use it for sustainable energy production. Innovative small biogas plants thus help farmers to make an active contribution to climate protection and at the same time contribute to decentralized energy supply and security in their region.

Project type:

Methane avoidance

emissions reduction:

Several thousand tons since project start (2010)

Project standard:

Location:

23+ Swiss farms

Sustainable management in the Swiss forest

This project in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland ensures CO2 storage and the sustainable management of 7,279 hectares of forest. The project contributions guarantee that the forest density is increased and that older and thicker trees with particularly high storage capacity can grow. This sustainable forest management also protects native animal and plant species and promotes biodiversity.

Project type:

CO2 storage in managed forests

emissions reduction:

245,000 tons CO2eq (2005-2034)

Project standard:

"Silvaconsult Forest Carbon Standard" SC-FCS, additionally FSC and PEFC verified

Location:

Forest of the Oberallmend Corporation in the canton of Schwyz, Switzerland

International projects

Protecting and conserving biodiversity in Indonesia

The forest reserve in Borneo, Indonesia, protects and preserves 64,500 hectares of swamp rainforest in the south of the island of Borneo from the threat of deforestation by the palm oil industry. This makes it the forest reserve that stores the most CO2 worldwide and the largest privately financed orangutan reserve. The project enjoys global lighthouse status thanks to its unparalleled contribution to climate protection and sustainability.

In 2020, this project was recognized as the first REDD+ project worldwide to contribute to all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals: The project promotes children's education, supports the local population with solar-powered lamps and efficient stoves and protects children from deadly water-borne diseases with clean water filters.

Project type:

Reducing emissions from deforestation and destructive forest use(REDD+)

emissions reduction:

130 million tons of CO2e (over the entire project duration)

Location:

Borneo Island, Kalimantan region in Indonesia

Stopping deforestation in Pará, Brazil

The main aim of this climate protection project in the state of Pará is to prevent commercial deforestation. This ban means that a huge forest area with dense vegetation can be preserved, which not only results in a high reduction in CO2 emissions, but also makes a significant contribution to preserving the rich biodiversity in the Amazon region.

Project type:

Reducing emissions from deforestation and destructive forest use(REDD+)

emissions reduction:

24 million tons CO2eq (over 30 years)

Project standard:

VCS and SOCIALCARBON® verified

Location:

Marajo Island, State of Pará in Brazil

Premium quality, fair prices, sustainability.
